Texas County deputies are investigating several crimes in the county.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched June 24 after a woman reported a man was trespassing on her Lundy Drive property west of Houston.

The woman stated the man was in a red truck and was being belligerent and wouldn’t leave.

An investigating officer determined the man wasn’t on the woman’s property and his truck was parked in county right-of-way.

•A deputy was dispatched June 24 regarding a report of a burglary at a Highway 32 residence near Licking.

A 56-year-old man and 52-year-old woman who live there told the officer they had come home and found the door kicked in and that a safe containing prescription medication, a marriage license and birth certificates was missing, along with a jar containing about $200 in coins. The couple named a 37-year-old Licking woman as a suspect.

•A deputy on June 20 responded to a report of a domestic assault at a Bado Road residence at Cabool.

A 24-year-old woman there told the officer she had been assaulted by a several relatives, but had been struck with a piece of wood lying in the kitchen. After speaking with several witnesses at the scene, the officer determined no crime had been committed and that the woman had punched herself to make her lip bleed and swell and had scratched the insides of her nostrils with her fingernails to make her nose bleed.

A trespass order was issued to the woman and a 34-year-old man who was with her.

•A deputy on June 17 investigated property damage at Big Creek Church on Big Creek Road at Yukon.

Church representatives showed the officer that the front door to the building – and glass in the door – had been damaged by a large rock being thrown at it. There are no suspects.

•An 82-year-old Licking man called June 22 to report that several items had been stolen from his Robertson Drive residence. While an investigating officer was on the way to his home, the man called back and said he had placed the items in his garage and they were all there.

A 58-year-old woman who lives there told the officer her nephew had broken into a shed and stolen all her tools. The woman then stated they had all been moved from that structure to another on the property.

The officer advised her that the tools hadn’t been stolen if they hadn’t been removed from the property.
