The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will continue a busy 2017 schedule with several activities July 28-29 at the fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
A swap meet and indoor/outdoor yard sale is set for Friday, July 28 and Saturday, July 29. Vendors are being sought for a fee of $15 per day.
Also on Friday (July 28), a “Battle of the Bands” will take place, with cash prizes based on judges’ decisions. The entry fee is $25 per band.
On Saturday (July 29), a car and bike show is scheduled, with an entry fee of $20 and registration beginning at 8 a.m.
The first 25 cars and 10 bikes registered earn a T-shirt and dash plaque. There will be trophies for winners, door prizes and a raffle for a Yeti cooler.
The “Battle of the Businesses Tug-O-War” is set for 2 p.m. Saturday. There’s a $10 entry fee and the winner gets a trophy.
Then at 7 p.m. Saturday, a pony pull will take place in the newly refurbished arena (ticket prices not announced).
