Revenue from half-cent sales taxes was up in the latest monthly distribution.

Texas County will sell several tracts of property on the steps of the county administrative center because the owners failed to pay their taxes.

The land tax sale, overseen by Collector-Treasurer Tammy Cantrell, is 10 a.m. Aug. 28.

In the notice published in this week’s Herald, the entity is selling 42 pieces of property.

Notices were earlier sent to those who were delinquent on their taxes.

Upon the sale of the property, the previous owner has one year to redeem the property or it is transferred to those purchasing it.

The City of Houston is selling one tract of land.
