The Federal Emergency Management Agency has provided more than $243,000 in individual assistance grants to about two dozen households in Texas County for disaster-related damage or needs not covered by insurance, it said Monday.

That includes money for basic home repairs, temporary rental assistance and other needs. Texas County residents are encouraged to stay in touch with FEMA, or to register if they have not already done so, by calling 800-621-3362. By staying in touch, they can request additional assistance, if necessary.

Nearly $10 million in individual assistance grants have been provided in Missouri for the April 28-May 11, 2017 disaster. That is in addition to flood insurance payments.

The figures do not reflect any payments under the national flood insurance program.
