A 35-year-old Licking man faces a felony charge and is held on $500,000 bond in the Texas County Jail after allegedly sending lewd text messages to a 13-year-old girl.
According a probable cause statement submitted to the county prosecutor by a Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy, Christopher L. Hadley, of 15571 Boiling Springs Road at Licking, allegedly sent sexually-charged messages to the girl twice on May 26 and again on May 30. The reporting officer stated he was able to obtain screen shots of the messages, but when Hadley was interviewed about them, he admitted to sending her a photo of his tongue ring, but denied sending anything sexual.
The officer asked Hadley how he knew the girl, and he reportedly said he formerly dated her aunt, has known her “all her life” and even watched over her as a child.
Hadley was arrested at Walmart at about 9 p.m. July 14 and taken to jail by a Houston Police Department officer who was advised he was there.
