Members of the Houston Education Foundation, along with Houston School District representatives, join to mark the donation of Chromebooks for use by sixth grade students at Houston. The foundation’s donation is one of several that has greatly expanded technology access in the classroom. Sixth graders at Houston Middle School have new technology in their classrooms — Chromebooks — thanks to a donation by the Houston Education Foundation.

The organization, the district’s top support group, recently participated in the Give Ozarks campaign. This day of giving allowed people to donate to specific nonprofit organizations.  HEF used those funds, along with a generous donation from 1967 HHS Alumnus Bob Burch, to help fulfill a technology need at Houston Middle School.  The organization donated $8,505 to purchase 35 Chromebooks for sixth grade students to use during the school day.  The district matched that amount allowing all the students to have a technology device.

The foundation has been instrumental in helping the district obtain many technology devices over the past couple of years.  With this recent donation, it has provided more than 200 Chromebooks for the elementary building and middle/high school media center.
