A local effort to aid Hurricane Harvey victims was announced Thursday.
Rebecca Smith said she and her family are collecting items that will be transported to a relief center in Corpus Christi.
She said the goal is to collect enough items to fill a 15-foot trailer by Sept. 29 for delivery on Oct. 1.
Items sought are non-perishable food items, toiletries, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, paper goods, diapers, cleaning supplies such as mops, mop buckets, brooms, bleach wipes, bleach, garbage bags, bug spray; and bottled water.
