The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a drunk driver downed electrical lines when his vehicle struck a utility pole Saturday night at Success.
Tpr. Curtis Haden said an eastbound 1997 Buick LeSabre driven by Robby T. Wallis, 24, of Salem, traveled off the right side of Highway 32 about one mile east of Success, struck the pole and a buried cable post. The road was closed awaiting Intercounty Electric Cooperative to arrive to make necessary repairs after wires extended over the roadway.
Wallis, who was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital, had minor injuries. It was unknown if he was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle had extensive damage.
Wallis was cited with DWI and driving while license revoked, Haden said. Assisting at the scene was Tpr. Stacy Crewse.
