The Houston Area Chamber of commerce will host the inaugural “Pumpkin Festival” from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 23) in downtown Houston.
Activities will include a classic car cruise-in, with dash plaques provided to the first 25 cars.
Also scheduled is a pumpkin bake-off. Persons are invited to enter their favorite baked item made of pumpkin for a chance to win a $25 Walmart gift card.
Chamber Executive Director Angie Quinlan said numerous other activities are planned, with several vendors, food, local race cars and displays by the Ozarks Older Iron Club.
Quinlan said Harold’s Classic BBQ will be serving pulled pork at the event, and Harold will be taking orders for ribs until noon Friday, to be picked up Saturday. To place an order, call 417-255-3880.
