The Houston Middle School football teams lost their season openers Thursday to Mountain Grove.
Anthony Carroll had a 16-yard third-quarter touchdown run in the seventh grade’s 26-6 defeat. Danny Venable had an interception for the Tigers’ defense.
The eighth grade lost 38-0. Baily Hurst had a sack.
