Houston's Ethan Mitchell runs onto the field as he was announced for the Tigers' 2017 home opener.

Houston Schools has announced seating changes at Tiger Stadium for Houston High School football games.

The HHS band is moving to bleachers on the track to allow for more stadium seating. High school students will occupy reserved seating in the former band section and middle school students will have seats on the painted bleachers –– formerly the high school section.

“In providing the reserved seating, we hope to increase the amount of crowd participation from our student sections,” the district said in a news release.

The district said elementary students should be seated with an accompanying adult in the home section. Students and patrons can visit the concession stand at any time during the game.

The public is reminded students are allowed to stand and cheer during the game. Adults are advised to plan their seats accordingly.

“The Houston R-1 School District appreciates the amount of community support as seen at our home football games,” the district said.

The new seating policy begins with the Sept. 22 homecoming game against Ava.
