Texas County’s unemployment rate increased three-tenths of a percentage point in August, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The figure was 5.7 percent.
In south-central Missouri, the average rate was 5.8 percent.
Texas County’s civilian labor force was 8,708 with 496 unemployed.
Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 5.9; Howell, 5.2; Shannon, 6.6; and Wright, 6.5.
