The Miss Texas County Pageant was held over the weekend at the community building at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.  More than 250 people attended shows in which several new titles were handed out in many categories.

Scholarship sponsors for the new Miss Texas County and Outstanding Teen were provided by The Bank of Houston, Progressive Ozark Bank, Landmark Bank, V.I.P. Properties, Farmers Insurance Group Willow Springs, Cynthia Jones-Ramsey, Agent; Southern Missouri Investments, Jim Bukowsky, and Delbert and Elaine Campbell.

In the afternoon showcase the girls showed their many talents. The people’s choice award went to Rebekah McGiboney of Houston.

In the evening show, the title of Miss Texas County was awarded to Madison Horner, from Cassville with ties to Houston. She is the granddaughter of Kay Skouby Simms.   Miss Texas County’s Outstanding Teen went to Brooklyn Atterberry of Plato.

The Miss and Outstanding Teens winners will go on and compete in Mexico, Mo., next June for the state titles. These young ladies will do community service projects throughout the year.
