The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will host a truck pull event Saturday (Oct. 14), in the refurbished arena at the chamber’s fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
The event will be put on by the Southern Missouri Tractor and Truck Pulling Association. Start time is 7 p.m.; tickets are $10 each, or $5 for kids ages 5 to 12 (kids under 5 get in free).
The event will be the series’ last points-pull of the season. The cook shack will be open.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, the chamber will host a horseshoe tournament and cornhole tournament, also at the fairgrounds.
The horseshoe tournament starts at 1 p.m. and cornhole competition at 6 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded in each tournament: $250 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third.
The entry fee is $50 per team, or $70 after Oct. 18. Concessions will be available.
Both tournaments are double-elimination. Organizers reserve the right to cancel the event is fewer than 10 teams per tournament sign up (entry fees would be refunded).
