A Willow Springs man was arrested Thursday, Oct. 19, on multiple charges by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Officers took a wanted man into custody Thursday night in Texas County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Ernest M. Lense, 60, of Willow Springs, was arrested on charges of offenses: Felony possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of methamphetamine, felony possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana, felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, felony resisting or interfering with an arrest, felony resist or interfering with a felony arrest, speeding, no proof of insurance and failing to wear a seat belt.

Lense was taken to the Texas County Jail, where medical personnel removed probes deployed from a Taser used to take him into custody.

On Friday, Lense was formally charged on possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinois ($250,000 bond) and manufacture of a controlled substance – except 35 grams or less marijuana/synthetic cannaboid ($500,000 bond)

Records show Lense also had been arrested on drug charges in September.
