A northbound flatbed tractor-trailer rig ran off the road Thursday afternoon on U.S. 63 near Indian Creek bridge south of Houston.

Traffic along U.S. 63 south of Houston slowed late Thursday afternoon after an accident near Indian Creek.

Tpr. Jacob Sellars of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a westbound 1994 GMC 1500 pickup driven by Dustin E. Cross, 35, of Houston, failed to yield to a northbound 2003 Peterbilt that had displayed a turn signal. Both vehicles struck in the northbound lane, Sellars said.

A passenger in the Cross vehicle, Stacy L. Treacy, 36, of Houston, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. She had minor injuries.

The pickup was totaled; everyone was wearing a seat belt.

Also on the scene were the Houston Rural Fire Department and Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
