Join us for a special children’s story hour! Local author Doug Gaston will be at the Houston library at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6. He will be reading his newest book, “Turtle or Tortoise?”

• Houston branch: A lot of exciting events at the Houston library for December. Dec. 2 will be the monthly meeting of the book club. If you are an adult that loves to read, join us. Dec. 6 will be our special children’s story hour with local author Doug Gaston. Join us on Dec. 9 to visit with Santa, make crafts and enjoy a snack.
• Summersville branch: Join us 2-4 p.m. Dec. 5 for a Christmas crafts get-together. There will be refreshments and make and take crafts for the adults in the area.
