Queens in various pageants make a stop in 2016 at one of many Taste of Christmas sites. Cooks supply the goodies, and the public tastes and determines the winners. The event is organized by the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce. 

The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its annual “Taste of Christmas” event today.

The event features cooks competing in several categories and shoppers tasting the fare and voting for their favorites. Participants must have their entries at businesses by 9 a.m. Judging starts at 10. Various prizes will be awarded to the winners. 

Here are the categories and locations:

•Appetizers – Consider the Lilies.

•Fudge – St. Mark’s Catholic Church.

•Cakes – Diane’s Pet Styles.

•Hot chocolate and ciders – Demi Grace Salon and Boutique.

•Cinnamon rolls – Blissful Nirvana Massage.

•Sugar free foods – the health food store.

•Chocolate chip cookie – Security Bank of the Ozarks.

•Decorated cookies – Houston Do-it Center.

•Chili – Pit Stop’s Ozarks Treasures.

•Cobblers – Studio N Salon.

•Sugar cookies – Rustic Darlin Boutique.
