Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred Sunday afternoon at Raymondville.

A search began after one person was stabbed at a residence at 205 Orchard St. (which runs east of Highway 137 and south of Highway B). Officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Texas County Sheriff’s Department searched fields and roadways near the residence.

Three people were stopped in a vehicle by the patrol. An aircraft had been called to aid in the search, but successfully locating the vehicle came before its arrival.

Held as part of the investigation on an outstanding warrant is Christopher M. Belcher, 30, of Raymondville. He was wanted on a felony Dent County warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance, the patrol said. According to court documents, a warrant for Belcher’s arrest was issued Sept. 12 after he failed to appear in court on the charge.

The condition of the victim was not immediately available.
