The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A deputy was dispatched at about 8:45 p.m. Dec. 17 regarding a report of a domestic incident at a Wye City Road residence at Success.
The officer made contact with a 25-year-old man who lives there who said his 25-year-old former girlfriend had come to his house to pick up their child and attempted to assault him. The man said she hadn’t hit him and didn’t want to press charges, but simply wanted a report on file.
•A deputy responded to a Highway 32 residence at Licking at about 1:35 a.m. Dec. 17 after a 33-year-old woman reported an assault.
The officer spoke with the woman, but she appeared to be under the influence of drugs and wasn’t making any sense. The woman reportedly got mad because she wanted someone arrested, but didn’t know who.
The deputy asked the woman what actually happened, but she wouldn’t tell him. The officer advised the woman he couldn’t help her if she wouldn’t share information, and she then told him to get off her property and not worry about it.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 6:15 p.m. Dec. 17 to check the well-being of a man at a Beeler Road residence at Cabool, because a woman had reported that she couldn’t make contact with her son and she wanted the sheriff’s department to contact him and have him call her.
The officer made contact with the man, and he said he would call his mother.
•A pair of deputies responded to a Shipp Drive residence at Licking on Dec. 21 after a VA hospital representative had called to report a suicidal man at the location.
Upon arrival, the officers were unable to make contact with anyone. They then determined that the man’s wife was at her brother’s house two doors down, and went there to get keys to the man’s house. When they returned, the man answered the door and indicated he had been sleeping and hadn’t heard them knocking.
The man also stated he had no plans of hurting himself or anyone else, and that his wife was trying to get him to the VA to get more money. He stated that every time he gets mad or upset, she tells him he has post-traumatic stress syndrome.
The officers returned the keys to the woman and advised her how to obtain a 96-hour commitment if she felt she needed to.
•A deputy on Dec. 19 responded to a request from the Rolla Police Department to help find two juveniles who had fled from the Pathways Center and were thought to be at one of two U.S. 63 residences at Houston. The officer checked both locations and didn’t located the missing kids.
