Author and Houston resident Doug Gaston and illustrator Landon Kemp, of Bolivar, have released the second their book in their “Believe!” children’s series, “Turtle or Tortoise?”

Gaston (an associate circuit judge in Texas County) and Kemp celebrated the release in an event last week at the Houston branch of the Texas County Library that included reading the book to kids in attendance and signing copies for people who purchased them.

Proceeds from the $15 price of each copy benefits Heifer International, an organization based in Little Rock, Ark., that provides livestock and environmentally sound agricultural training to needy people in 25 countries, including the U.S.

“Believe!” books are available online at BelieveKidsBooks.com, Amazon, and soon on Barnes and Noble. They are sold locally at Little House Gifts and Dry Creek Marketplace.
