Sales tax revenue climbed during the latest monthly distribution in Houston, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

A strong monthly sales tax report from the Missouri Department of Revenue was enough to bring revenue from a one-cent sales tax in Houston up over 2016 levels.

The tally was $91,199, which was up $20,610 from the same period a year ago, the department said.

For the year, $665,432 has been collected. That’s up $1,685 from the same 11 months in 2016.

Merchants also collect two, quarter sales taxes for road, sidewalk and utility work. The total was $22,781, which is up $5,522 over the same period for the year. The total for the year is $162,043, up $422.
