On Tuesday, organizer Pat Miller couldn’t have been happier with the community’s response to the annual “Share Your Christmas” drive that assists deserving children in Texas County.

“It never ceases to amaze me,” Miller said of the response to meet the need of children whose cases were outlined weekly in the Houston Herald. “This community is so generous. If you put it out there that there’s a need, people around here will always meet it.”

Donors also had the opportunity to take a case off an “Angel Tree” at several locations. In all, 195 angels dangled for easy availability.

Miller praised the generosity that will help 245 children in 92 families in the county. Distribution was under way this week at the campaign’s headquarters in the basement of the Houston Lions Club Den on North U.S. 63.

Many clubs, individuals and businesses joined to make the drive successful.
