Three persons were injured in two accidents in the Houston area on Wednesday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Cpl. Terry Nelson said a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Zara M. Petkovic, 24, swerved to miss a dog on U.S. 63, travelled off the roadway and struck a ditch about three miles north of Houston. Petkovic and a passenger, Vickie F. Petkovic, 63, both of West Plains, had minor injuries and were taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital by ambulance at about 9:25 p.m.
Both were wearing seat belts, Nelson said. The vehicle was totaled.
Assisting at the scene were Tpr. Jacob Sellars and the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
A Cabool teenager was injured Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 63 about two miles south of Houston.
Tpr. Jacob Sellars said a northbound 2004 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Neely R. Norris, 16, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Norris, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. The vehicle was totaled, Sellars said.
