A coat of ice covers a tree and grass Sunday west of Houston.

A coat of ice — with a light mist still falling in some places Sunday morning — is causing treacherous road conditions.

Some slide offs have occurred in the county. One on Sunday morning was on Highway 137 near Vandeveer Road at Raymondville. The Raymondville Fire Department was called.

The accidents continued throughout the morning.

As roads became slick last night, a Houston man was hurt in an accident south of Edgar Springs on U.S. 63.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer driven by Eric C. Brown, 46, lost control, slid off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned at 8:10 p.m. about four miles south of Edgar Springs.

He was taken with moderate injuries to Phelps County Regional Medical Center at Rolla. The patrol said the vehicle was totaled. Brown was wearing a seatbelt.
