The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Helen N. Laffoon, 100, of 1003 Cedar Ridge Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 63 at about 12:50 p.m. Feb. 2.
•An officer was dispatched at about 2:20 p.m. Jan. 27 regarding a report of a fight and property damage at a Thomasville Road apartment complex.
Upon arrival, the officer observed several people standing near a blue Chrysler vehicle, with one man wearing shorts and no shirt yelling and pumping his fist at the rest of the group. The officer observed that the car had a broken windshield, a broken rear window, damaged side mirrors and a large dent in its side.
The officer asked the man who had caused the damage, and he said he had and would do it to all the vehicles in the apartments’ parking lot. The man was arrested, handcuffed and placed in the officer’s patrol vehicle.

The officer then spoke with the rest of the people and was told the suspect had become angry when they asked him to put on a shirt so they could take him to the hospital to be observed for his aggressive behavior. The angry man also reportedly put holes in the walls of his apartment, damaged the stove and all the furniture inside and threw food all over it.
The group also stated the suspect had hit two of the men in the group, and threw a metal bar at a woman, which bounced off of a wall and then hit her in the back.
A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges of assault, property damage and peace disturbance.
•Alan L. Johnson, 25, of 14151 Long Hollow Road at Plato, was issued a citation for stealing under $750 after allegedly shoplifting from Walmart on Jan. 24.
