Summersville emergency personnel responded Saturday afternoon to a crash.

Two persons were injured Friday afternoon on Highway 38 when a truck crossed the center of the highway and struck a trash truck, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Jason Sentman said a westbound 1986 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Joshua D. Stallcup, 29, struck the trash truck operated by Larry K. Ward, 61, of Houston. The eastbound 2016 Peterbilt trash truck, which was empty, ran off the right side of the roadway, back across the highway and off the left side and finally overturned.

Ward and a passenger, Harvey L. Moore, 24, of Bucyrus, were taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital. Ward had moderate injuries and Moore’s were minor. Stallcup was not hurt.

Sentman said the pickup was totaled and the trash truck had moderate damage.
