Revenue from the City of Houston's sales tax was up in Houston in the latest distribution, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue. 

Revenue from a one-cent sales tax collected by Houston merchants was up about 3 percent from 2017 during the latest monthly distribution, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue. 

The total was $58,797, which was an increase of $1,686 from the same period a year ago. 

Retailers also collect two eighth-cent sales taxes for street, sidewalk and utility work. Each totaled $13,560, which was nearly identical to 2017’s figures.
