The Summersville branch of Texas County Library celebrated the 151st birthday of author Laura Ingalls Wilder on Saturday by hosting the library’s fourth annual party.
Many of the visitors wore pioneer bonnets, and others chose a bonnet to wear for the event from the Friends of the Library’s collection.
Rachel McGregor braided hair for several of the party guests, and Betty Jo Bandy showed how laundry was done by pioneers.
While butter was made by passing jars of cream to shake, Laura Ingalls Wilder trivia was enjoyed before refreshments of heart-shaped caked and lemonade were served.
Each guest received a souvenir coin purse from Wilder’s Mansfield home, compliments of Summersville Friends of the Library.
