The Missouri Department of Conservation will host a workshop designed for novice turkey hunters Tuesday (March 20) in Rolla.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites new turkey hunters to get ready for spring turkey season at a free introductory workshop Tuesday (March 20) in Rolla.

Anyone age 10 or older may register for the event, but children younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult. It will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marguerite Bray Conservation Area (14220 Bridge School Road).

“Turkey hunting is one of the most exciting outdoor pursuits,” said MDC Conservation Educator Travis Mills. “Come join us to learn about hunting wild turkeys in Missouri and enhance your knowledge and safety concerning turkey hunting.”

The class is designed for new turkey hunters, and participants do not need to bring anything with them. MDC staff will teach about hunting methods, clothing, scouting and wild turkey biology, and will answer questions from participants.

Participants must preregister at MDC’s online event management site: mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/155957
