Revenue from the City of Houston's sales tax was up in Houston in the latest distribution, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue. 

Revenue from sales taxes collected in Houston were down for the February distribution, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The total from a one-cent sales tax was $65,506, which was down $1,397 from the same monthly period in 2017.

For the year, collections are nearly unchanged — $124,303, which is up $289.

Merchants also collect two quarter-cent sales earmarked for streets, sidewalks and utility infrastructure. Each totaled $16,086, which was down $357 each from a year ago. For the year, $29,645 has collected. That’s down $537 on each.
