Woods, grass fire reported in Plato area, two departments to field fire

The Plato Fire Department was called at about 2:50 p.m. Sunday to a report of a grass and woods fire at 11227 Highway AE. 

Authorities reported the blaze to rapidly spreading.

The Houston and Roby fire departments were called to a five-acre field fire at about 4:20 p.m. Sunday at Highways AA and 17. (It was later determined to be a controlled burn).
