Members of the Texas County Commission handled personnel matters April 11 and received an update on legislation that would raise the age of juveniles.

Commissioners:

—Heard from Sheriff James Sigman related to personnel issues: Cheryl Reeder, who was acting as administrative assistant, will become the dispatch supervisor, a job she previously held. Commissioners heard three dispatchers resigned on March 31. They are: A.J. Castleman, dispatcher; Caroline Garner, part-time dispatcher; and Chris Maddox, part-time dispatcher. Castleman’s position has been filled.

—Read correspondence from Missouri Sen. Mike Cunningham related to raising the age of juveniles and funding needed to handle more juvenile cases.

—Received correspondence from Smith & Co. Engineering, Poplar Bluff, related to Burdine Township hiring it for bridge services.

—Discussed with MoDOT issues related to Highway 17.

—Are responding to an Missouri Open Records and Meetings request from George Sholtz.
