Houston Middle Schoolers Karlee Curtis, Karly Drake and Nick Washko all won individual events last week at a track meet in West Plains.
Curtis topped the field in the 100-meter dash and Drake won the 100 hurdles for the seventh-grade girls. Washko, an eighth-grader, was first in the 100 hurdles.
Curtis was also seventh in the 200 and 400. Sevannah Neal was eighth in the 1600.
For the eighth-grade girls, Sarah Purcell placed sixth in the 400 and eighth in the high jump. Annie Topping was seventh in the 400 and Jenna Sheppard placed eighth in the long jump.
Washko was a member of the eighth-grade boys’ 4×400 team that finished second. He was joined by Cooper Mils, Devon Sawyer and Patrick Mister.
Mister was third in the 400 and Mills placed fourth in the 800. Sawyer was sixth in the 100 hurdles.
The 4×200 relay team of Aaron Neal, Blake York, Hunter McKinney and Nathaniel Garnica was fifth.
For the seventh-grade boys, Josh Haden was seventh in the 800 and Will Kirn placed eighth in both the shot put and 100. The 4×100 relay team of Anthony Carroll, Tyler Lawson, Kane VanHorn and Will Kirn placed eighth.
