Donald Eugene Van Note, 81, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in Springfield.

He was born Aug. 31, 1936, in Bucyrus, son of Lyle and Delma Shryock Van Note.

He attended White Rock Country Grade School. His parents and family moved to Council Grove, Kan., where he graduated from high school.

He joined the Air Force in 1955 and served until 1959.

He became a member of the Iron Workers Union and stayed a member until his retirement age. After retirement, he operated several small vehicle detailing shops. His final employment was as a taxi driver in Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents a one sister, Linda.

Survivors include a brother, Lee; and four sisters, Peggy, Marjorie, Mary Bell, and Dorothy.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
