The all-female country music group Farewell Angelina will perform next week at the Melba Performing Arts Center in downtown Houston.

The all-female group “Farewell Angelina” will bring its unique brand of country music to Houston in a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday (April 26) at the Melba Performing Arts Center in downtown Houston.

Named after a Bob Dylan song made popular by folk singer Joan Baez in 1965, Farewell Angelina features four women – Nicole Witt, Andrea Young, Lisa Torres and Lauren Lucas – known as powerhouse vocalists and dynamic songwriters who are also talented on multiple instruments. Their blend of harmonies, violins and guitars has prompted praise from several music publications and earned the group a spot on a Rolling Stone Magazine list of “New Artists You Need to Know.”

Longtime friends, the four met in Nashville, Tenn., while in the process of touring and recording with top country music artists and writing songs for some of the genre’s biggest hit-makers. They respected and admired each other’s work and eventually joined forces.

Farewell Angelina has performed the National Anthem at numerous big events (including NFL Thursday Night Football, the Unbridled Eve Gala for the Kentucky Derby and the annual Trails West Festival in St. Joseph) and will tour with country superstar Blake Shelton later this year.

Advance tickets for the show in Houston cost $15 and are available at Pizza Express (on U.S. 63 next to Walmart). Tickets at the box office will cost $20.

VIP/After-party passes are available for $30, which also includes the concert.

More information about Farewell Angelina can be found on the group’s website. A self-titled EP is digitally available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Southwest Missouri Emergency Communication Fund, a locally-based non-profit organization.
