Hailey Heathington was the runner-up in the 1600 meters at a nine-team meet Tuesday in Salem to pace the Houston track team.
Heathington ran the mile event in 6 minutes, 47 seconds. She was just in front of teammate Shelby Ozier, who finished fourth at 6:49.
Dakota Burchett was the top finisher on the boys’ side as he ran the 100 in 12:03 to finish fourth.
Devin Wallander was fifth in the discus and sixth in the shotput. Christian Heathington finished seventh in the 1600.
The girls’ 4×100 relay team of Kameron Hall, Jaden Stell, Destiny York and Leighanna VanHorn placed sixth in 57.56. Hall was also seventh in the 200 meters.
Winter-Lee Tomaszwaski finished fourth in the 400 and Jada Lassiter was eighth in the discuss.
Along with Houston, the meet included Rolla, Salem, MG, Licking, Willow, Liberty, Vibernum and Cuba.
