Middle school baseball has arrived at Houston Schools.
The Tigers kicked off their inaugural campaign Monday with a trip to Mountain View. The Houston ‘A’ team lost 7-3 and the ‘B’ team was defeated 2-1.
The start of the season – the first time Houston has offered a middle school baseball program – was delayed by three postponed games due to inclement weather.
Wiley Sisco struck out six batters in three innings in the start for the A team. Sisco, Kaiden Wantland and Danny Venable all had hits.
The game was tied 3-all until the bottom of the fifth inning when Liberty pushed across four runs.
In the B game, Dakota James, Harold Lassiter and Zander Scholz all had hits. Lassiter knocked in a run.
Venable and Colton Stewart both had two strikeouts on the mound.
MS SOFTBALL STARTS SEASON 2-0
