Two Licking teenagers were injured Monday evening when a vehicle struck a tree.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Chelsea L. Hawkins, 17, and Jaina K. Lewis, 18, were both transported by private vehicle to Texas County Memorial Hospital following the 7:15 p.m. wreck. Both were passengers. The accident was four miles west of Licking on Boone Creek Road.
The driver, Dameun A. Williams, 17, was traveling northbound when the 1998 Buick Lasabre he was driving traveled off the roadway. Williams overcorrected, the patrol said, and the vehicle struck a tree. The vehicle was totaled.
Williams, who was uninjured, and Hawkins were wearing seat belts. Lewis was not.
