Thelma Lorene (Wallace) Longacre Brown was born in a farm home in Vernon County near Bronaugh, Mo., to Andrew J and Beulah F (Orr) Longacre on Nov. 27, 1919. She passed away April 11, 2018, at Tablerock Healthcare Center, Kimberling City, Mo.
She attended Moore School for two years before moving to Sheldon, Mo., where she attended school and graduated high school in 1940.
Thelma was saved at age 13 and became a member of Sheldon First Baptist Church. After she married, she moved her membership to Central Baptist in Houston, Mo., where it remained. Thelma taught Sunday school at Central Baptist and also at Cavalry Baptist in West Plains.
Thelma enjoyed quilting and shared beautiful quilts with her family.
On June 12, 1940, she married Robert W. Wallace and they made their home in Houston, Mo. A son, Robert Leon Wallace, came to bless their home on Sept. 21, 1941, and a daughter, Meredith Kaye, was born on May 14, 1943.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert L Wallace on Feb. 19, 1960; and her husband, Robert W Wallace on April 6, 1988.
She married Duane Brown on Feb. 16, 1999, and they made their home in West Plains. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2007.
On April 7, 2008, she went to live at the Walnut Street Apartments, West Plains, Mo. In December 2012, she moved to Kimberling City to live with her daughter, Kaye.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Kaye Bandy of Kimberling City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Michael Kinnaird and Lona Bremer and husband, Brian; and one great-granddaughter, Kai Kinnaird.
Services were 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at Evans Funeral Home. Burial was in Central Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Freddie Adey, Denny Thomason, Michael Kinnaird, Don Shelhammer, Brian Bremer and Ron Farrell. Honorary pallbearer was Charles Ward.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Cemetery.Â
