The Houston baseball team lost twice Friday in a pair of games at Thayer.

In the opener, the Tigers couldn’t overcome an early six-run deficit in an 8-3 loss to Dora. The day ended HHS blowing a late lead as Thayer scored three times in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 5-4 win.

The Tigers (6-13) have lost eight out of their last 10 games.

Alex Castleman went 2-for-4 with an RBI against Dora. Connor Wilson doubled.

Braedin Groff allowed six runs – three earned – in the defeat. He struck out eight batters in three innings.

In the nightcap, HHS committed two errors in the final inning as Thayer rallied for the win.

Sophomore Sterling Jackson struck out six in six innings in the loss. He gave up six hits and two earned runs.

Freshman Trevor Mitchell had a team-best three hits. Wilson and Gavin Alston had two hits apiece.
