Texas County deputies responded to several recent calls in the county.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A 48-year-old Plato woman reported April 27 that a man and woman had stolen a surveillance camera mounted in a birdhouse outside her Verbena Drive residence, and then broken in and swiped food.

The woman told an investigating officer that her husband and the male suspect were the only two people who knew about the hidden the camera. Investigation continues.

•A 49-year-old Bucyrus woman reported on April 28 that someone had broken into her Highway 17 residence and stolen a laptop computer and two toolboxes. There are no suspects.

•Two deputies responded at about 10 p.m. April 21 after a 45-year-old Success man reported hearing gunfire and yelling next door to his Highway 32 residence.

The officers made contact with a man at the neighboring residence and he said he had fired his gun to get his dogs to stop fighting. The officers observed several dogs in the man’s yard.

•A deputy responded on April 23 to a request for assistance from a Division of Family Services investigator regarding a 17-year-old girl who was staying with family members at a Highway 32 residence at Roby.

The girl told the officer she was from outside the area and was receiving death threats from gang members and students at her school for turning in a teacher for sexual misconduct. The girl told the officer she feared for her life if she returned home. 

•A deputy was dispatched at about 9:40 p.m. April 22 regarding a request for assistance by an ambulance crew at a Highway 32 residence at Licking.

While on the way there, the officer was advised that the 55-year-old woman the ambulance had been called for had left the home in a car. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the woman’s husband and he said she had come home and accused him of cheating on her and “went crazy,” and that he thought she needed to go to a hospital.

The officer was unable to locate the woman or her car.

•A deputy responded at about 3:35 p.m. April 22 to a report of a reckless driver on Cleveland Road at Houston. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
