A Houston Police Department investigation has ended with a Cabool woman facing multiple charges, including two felonies.
According to an officer’s report, a woman who was a suspect in a trespassing offense at Walmart was observed walking along U.S. 63 at about 5 p.m. March 18. The officer made contact with the woman, and she admitted to having been in the store despite being banned in July 2014.
After arresting the woman, the officer assisted her to a patrol vehicle and felt a clothing tag under her hooded sweatshirt. The woman then admitted to having stolen “a bunch of stuff” from Walmart.
After the woman was taken to the Texas County Jail, a dispatcher who was dressing her out found an orange tube with a plastic bag containing marijuana inside.
Due to the investigation, Ashley R. Collins, 28, of 15271 Simmons Drive at Cabool, was on May 9 charged with class D felonies of second-degree burglary and delivery of a controlled substance to a county jail, and misdemeanor stealing. She is in jail on $100,000 bond.
All the items Collins allegedly swiped from Walmart were recovered.
