Glenn Eugene Willson, 83, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018.

He was born Jan. 18, 1935, in Parsons, Kan., son of Francis L. and Willis Sears Willson. He and Irene Hubbs were married Feb. 26, 1954.

He moved with his family to Houston in September 1952. He graduated from Houston High School in 1953.

He served in the Army from March 1954 to March 1956.

He returned to Houston and worked at various jobs until January 1, 1966, when he joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He retired from the patrol in August 1991. He worked part-time as a deputy for the Texas County Sheriff’s Department for the next 18 years, 10 years primarily as a transport officer for the TCSD, Juvenile Division and Department of Family Services. He was then coordinator for the Texas County Neighborhood Watch Program for eight years.

He was a member of Ozark Baptist Church, where he was actively involved as long as his health permitted.

He enjoyed traveling, going on family vacations with his children, and after he retired, traveling with his wife, Irene, abroad and cruising.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; a sister, Janiece Casebeer; a daughter, Shari; two sons, Robert Willson and Brian Willson; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Visitation was Wednesday, May 30, under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in his memory.
