Seventh-grader Aliyah Walker had three hits, including an inside-the-park home run, and scored three times as the Houston Middle School softball team rallied past Thayer 8-6 Monday.

The Lady Tigers improved to 6-1 in the program’s inaugural season.

Madison Reed added a pair of hits for Houston. Katie Jo Chipps scored twice.

Thayer scored four times in the second inning for a 4-1 lead. Houston pulled even at 4-all on Walker’s three-run homer and after Thayer went ahead in the top of the fourth, the Lady Tigers pushed across four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead for good.

Walker struck out six in the victory.
