Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings in late April.
Commissioners:
•Held a phone conference with Mike Kell regarding tax bills and late fees. They were not waived.
•Have opened the bidding process for the county’s banking needs for 2018-2022.
•Approved an order to remove 2015 personal property from the tax books. The total was $3,408.
•Reviewed and acknowledged the firing of Christian Denton as a part-time jailer effective on April 4.
•Met with Bennie Cook, a representative of U.S. Rep. Jason Smith’s office, and discussed any help the congressman could extend.
•Approved a bond payment totaling $116,270.
•Agreed to refund a late tax fee for Brady Shepherd.
•Received a resignation letter from Michael Huffman, sheriff deputy.
•Held a closed session on Wednesday, March 28.
