Sales tax revenue decreased during the latest monthly distribution in Houston, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Revenue from a one-cent sales tax collected by Houston merchants was down about 9 percent in the latest monthly distribution by the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The total was $46,465, which was down $4,433 from April 2017. For the year, $227,401 has been collected. That’s down $4,913 from 2017.

Retailers also collect two quarter-cent sales taxes earmarked for streets, sidewalks and utility work. Each totaled $11,266, which was down about $542 each from a year ago.
