MoDOT announced sidewalk work for Houston on West Highway 17.

Contractor crews will work this summer to improve a sidewalk in the City of Houston.

Work will begin as early as June from northbound Highway 17 at Hamrick Street to just east of Dooley Street. The project is expected to take two-three weeks to complete.

The Missouri Department of Transportation said periodic lane closures will occur. The work zone will be marked with signs and flaggers. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in the area. Work will be from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. weekdays with some occasional Saturdays.

The Houston sidewalk will be tackled following two similar projects in West Plains.
