Houston High School’s Thomas Smith shot a two-day 192 to finish tied for 70th among 90 golfers in the Class 2 Missouri State High School Activities Association championship.
Smith fired a 21-over-par 93 last Monday at Meadow Lakes Acres County Club in New Bloomfield. It was a personal-best round as he was tied for 56th.
The following day he shot a 99.
The top three individual scorers were all produced by Bishop LeBlond, who won the team title by 66 strokes. Willow Springs finished tied for seventh in the team standings.
Matthew Price of Liberty produced the best conference score in the state finals at 167. Brandon Marcak of Willow Springs had a 169.
Licking’s James Swan was tied for 49th at 182.
