The Houston baseball team won its first conference game in impressive fashion.
The Tigers pounded out 17 hits and Braedin Groff threw six shutout innings as HHS blanked Liberty 12-0 on the road Tuesday.
Freshman Alex Castleman was 3-for-4 with five RBIs to lead the Houston offense. Sterling Jackson also had three hits and Ty McCloud scored four times.
Groff, who got his first win of the season, struck out eight batters and walked none. He allowed four hits.

Houston (7-14, 1-6 South Central Association) went ahead 1-0 in the top of the first inning on Gavin Alston’s two-out single to left field to score Jackson.
The Tigers broke the game open with five runs in the second, highlighted by two-run singles by Connor Wilson and Castleman.
Castleman’s third-inning single put HHS ahead 8-0.
